Khasi Hills Meghalaya

Cloaked in natural beauty, Khasi Hills are a part of the Garo-Khasi range in the north eastern state Meghalaya. It is also a part of the Patkai range and of the Meghalaya subtropical forests eco-region. This region is occupied by Khasi tribes of Meghalaya, which are traditionally in various chieftainships, petty states known as the Khasi Hill States. One of its capitals, Cherrapunji, receives the maximum rainfall in the world.
