Nagaland State Museum - Showcasing The Glorious History Of Nagaland!

Nagaland State Museum

Take a glimpse of the Naga rich culture at its State Museum which is located in the capital city of Kohima. It is a treasure house of a rare collection of articles belonging to the different tribes of Nagaland. These ancient articles portray a clear picture of the culture and traditions of the Nagas. Nagaland is a home to around 16 tribes, each having its own glorious history and culture. Artefacts of all the tribes are displayed beautifully in the museum. It is an ideal place to see the architecture, social hierarchy and costumes of the Naga tribes. Some of the articles displayed are gateposts, statues, pillars, jewellery and a ceremonial drum. The basement of the museum houses several animals and birds found only in the north eastern hill states.
