Shyamsundar mound, Pilak Tripura

If you wish to see the impressive archaeological remains of Tripura, then Pilak in South Tripura's Belonia subdivision is the best bet. The history of these historic relics dates back to the eighth and the ninth centuries. They speak oodles about the glorious history of the state. Pilak is a wonderful place in terms of location also. It is located amidst the lush green valley which abounds in paddy fields.

Pilak looks like a canvas dotted with the colours of the Hindu and Buddhist art.
Here you can see many terracotta plaques, stupas and stone figurines of Avolokiteswara and images of Narasimha belonging to the Buddhist period.
