About The Sanctuary:
Sprawling over an area of 100 sq km, Sessa Orchid Sanctuary is a protected area of India. The sanctuary as the name suggests is a home to beautiful and colourful orchids which are found in abundance here. Orchids in different colours and sizes are spotted in the sanctuary. In fact, it boasts of 200 species of orchids with five new and endemic species. Twelve rare species of orchids are present here. If you are in love with flowers, then this is the place to head for.

Sessa Orchid Sanctuary is an ideal option for adventure tours North East India as it offers a lot of adventure to the visitors. The trekking routes inside the Sanctuary have been developed by the department of Environment and Forest. This adventurous sport make the trip of the visitors to Sessa Orchid Sanctuary more pleasurable. The deep gorges and valleys, high peaks and rugged terrain are a treat for adventure lovers. Tippi river flows through the sanctuary which joins the Kamegh river at Tippi village.

Air: Tezpur is the nearest airport.
Rail: Bhalukpong is the nearest railhead.
Road: Sessa is well connected by bus and taxis to the major cities like Tezpur and Itanagar.


Accommodation:
Several accommodation options are available near the Sessa sanctuary. The good options are the Forest Fest House in Tipi and PWD Inspection Bunglows at Bhalupong, Dedza(Jamiri) and Tenga.
