About The Sanctuary:

Established with a noble mission of saving and curing the injured and sick wildlife, the Eagle's Nest Sanctuary sprawls over an area of 217 sq km. It also shelters orphaned animals. Harry Kunz is the founder of this Sanctuary and he founded it in 2001. He has 20 years of experience as a wildlife caregiver. Here the injured animals or the animals suffering from disease are given medical treatment and love. Once they become fit and fine they are released back to their natural home, Jungle. Animals spotted in the sanctuary are tiger, leopard, sambar, serows, elephants, red panda and gorals. The rich flora of the sanctuary add more charm to it.

Harry Kunz is a specialist of birds of prey and is also allowed to conduct research on the animals. Researchers, scientists and volunteers are most welcome in the sanctuary.

How To Reach:

Air: The nearest airport is Tezpur.

Rail: The nearest railhead is located in Bhalikpong. A bus or a taxi from the station will easily take you to the sanctuary.

Road: Regular buses and taxis from Tawang and Itanagar take the tourists to the sanctuary.


Accommodation:

Accommodation is not a problem for tourists coming to Eagle's Nest Sanctuary. Several hotels are available at nearby places. Accommodation in the sanctuary is also available. The simple accommodation at the sanctuary offers international breakfast, full board(if needed), pleasant environment, native animals close up and bird watching.
